Caracas.- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez overcame this weekend with his username @chavezcandanga 2.5 million followers on the social networking site Twitter, although the President said he plans to change the name because it displeases him.

After concluding a meeting with Defense Minister of Peru, Luis Otárola, Chavez told reporters that he will change his account @chavezcandanga, which was activated on April 27, 2010, and said that some days he does not write anything because they hadn´t time.

Venezuelan President confessed that his account, which the Venezuelan Sate News Agency said today became the Head of State used more often in Latin America and the second in the world, was due to the initiative of Interior Minister Tarek El Aissami , and the parliamentary member Diosdado Cabello.

Candanga in Venezuela means candle or strength to do something.

The President said that he wrote when he was resting more as a result of the surgery he underwent in June to remove a cancerous tumor, but could not write with the dynamics that he has retaken.

Today, Chavez in the social network follows 21 accounts that include some of his ministers, and presidents of Ecuador, Rafael Correa of Argentina, Cristina Fernández, and Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, among others.
