El Salvador.- Victor Miguel Cuchillac Callejas, a young electrical engineer in the area of ​​research at the Universidad Francisco Gavidia (UFG), is currently developing a project that will allow children from eight years of age, to obtain and apply knowledge in Logic, Mathematics and Physics.

The work Design and construction of an electronic coach to teach logic, physics, automation and robotics in primary school children is born at the fact that the country needs professionals with good skills in the field of engineering.

As expressed by Cuchillac Callejas the coaches combine the use of hardware or cards (which are in design) programs or real scenarios. The latter will be tables with the size of a sheet of bond paper, in which infants undergo a series of activities that involve things they see in everyday life.

Cuchillac said that in 2012 prototypes will be tested in six pilot schools, three of them are public and others private. In the case they are managing permissions with the Ministry of Education and school owners.

The selection of public educational institutions will be based on the equipment they have. So this is the case of those who have received XO laptops and Classmates. In the future they plan to develop this effort with the tablet which he said they have already been included in the Service of the United States. Coaches also integrate other elements of cost in the international market.

Cuchillac Callejas said he had witnessed in other countries like Japan, children working with robots using sensors since 2000. This enables them to understand the part of physics and have fun. Something similar happens in the education systems in India and Argentina.

The researcher stresses that the project differs from the ones above by the profile of child they will work with and because coaches foster learning from real life.

The researcher said that in order to extend the project in the public education system, as intended, they will require financial support from any governmental organization or international organization.

The project includes the development of a teaching methodology in which participating centers and their educators will be trained.
