The Arsenal of Argentina advanced to the second phase of the Copa Libertadores-2012 Tuesday with a 1-1 draw with Sport Huancayo in Peru, at a match in the Andean city of Huancayo, due to their 3-0 win in the first leg of last week in Buenos Aires.
The goal of the classification was made by Luciano Leguizamón Arsenal at 86 minutes, while at Huancayo had opened the scoring with Sergio Ibarra at 44 minutes.
The tie reflects what happened in the match, played at the stadium in Huancayo, at 3248 meters above sea level, with the always tempting ordered Arsenal long ball thrown by the goalkeeper in search of the backlash, and a pressure from Huancayo for all three goals against the first leg.The match played out in front of about 12,000 people cold with rain was hotly contested in the second stage, when the locals pressed by time went on the attack looking to expand the score to give them hope to go to penalty kicks, while the Argentineans felt the height and shortness of breath.
The 3-0 lead in the first leg in Buenos Aires was a major factor for the visitor to play with ease, taking every precaution to avoid any surprises.
However, Arsenal went ahead in Group 4 of the second phase, in which it will face Venezuelan Zamora, Boca Juniors of Argentina and Fluminense of Brazil.
