The British government said that in planning national safety device all possible threats have been taken into account.
British Minister of Interior, Theresa May, said the government is aware that the London Olympics represent an attractive target for terrorist groups, so that their national security plans have taken into account that premise which is facing the event.
In a speech Wednesday on security preparations the British executive ensured not only an amazing show, but also a safe, responsible one for the Home Office acknowledged that Britain, like all western countries, faces a number of ongoing threats to national security.The minister said that plans facing up to the event have been developed assuming that the terrorist threat level at the time of the conclusion of the Games will be severe.
According to her, in the implementation of this safety device flexibility will be crucial as it will enable the Executive to respond quickly and effectively to any unforeseen incident.
The head of the Home Office also revealed that a total of 97 arrests have been made as part of an operation known as Podium for crimes such as the resale of tickets to sporting events, ghost web page creation and fake hotel entries, while not detailing since when the arrests occurred.
