The Director of the Colombian police, General Oscar Naranjo, is about to leave his post and denied having any diplomatic or political aspirations, in contrast, he admitted that it is necessary to find alternatives to the fight against drugs, starting with the legal use of marijuana under state control.
The officer said: I am in favor of promoting a debate to explore alternative routes, new procedures, new policies around the prevention and suppression of drugs. I also agree to speak frankly about each drug.

Countries South Korea and Colombia made ​​the Sixth Round of Negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in the Colombian resort of Cartagena between next Monday and Friday, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
Among the topics to be discussed regarding the agreements between the nations mentioned, are what they called "chapters on Market Access, Investment, Origin Rules, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Cooperation, Trade and Sustainable Development, Intellectual Property and Public Procurement".

Uruguay increases beef exports

The Government reported that the beef export from Uruguay between January and March rose 9.9 percent thanks to more business in the region. 91,054 tons of meat where sold , increasing revenues by 11.8 percent over the same period, surpassing the record set in 2011 of 82,814 tons exported.
Other factors that contributed to the exports increase were the significant product placement in several member countries of Mercosur and the Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
