On Thursday, the former Secretary of Treasury, Ernesto Cordero Arroyo, registered as a National Action Party (PAN) presidential pre-candidate with the PAN’s National Elections Commission (CNE) at the PAN headquarters in Mexico City.

José Espina, the President of the CNE, received Cordero’s registration and other requirements. Gustavo Madero, the PAN’s national leader, was the official witness of the registration. Cordero was accompanied by the members of his campaign team, as well as by the Governors of Sonora, Guillermo Padrés; of Guanajuato, Juan Manuel Oliva, and of Baja California Sur, Marco Covarrubias.

For the event, which was held in the central courtyard of the PAN’s headquarters, known as the Jardín de los Naranjos, a tent had been installed the night before. There were several PAN members and supporters, who received Cordero by shouting slogans, including, Cordero is here!, I’m betting on Cordero, and Ernesto for President.

Javier Livas Cantú and Luis Paredes Moctezuma requested to be registered at the National Action Party’s (PAN) National Electoral Commission as presidential pre-candidates, also.
