The three aspiring presidential candidates for the National Action Party (PAN), Josefina Vázquez Mota, Santiago Creel Miranda and Ernesto Cordero Arroyo participated in an informative debate. The event was broadcast on the Internet and the pre-candidates presented their political platforms.
They answered six questions that people had sent through social networks about their political aspirations and proposals in terms of education, security and the economy. The debate, which was moderated by Cecilia Soto, began with Creel Miranda’s presentation, followed by Cordero Arroyo and Vázquez Mota. As the debate progressed, the PAN pre-candidates presented their platforms and intentions for the presidential race of 2012. The three aspiring presidential candidates debated for over an hour and were asked why they think they would be the best for the electoral fray next year. I want to be president of this country because I believe I have the power to build, along with my fellow PANistas and citizens, a nation of solutions and peace, Creel said.Cordero Arroyo took the opportunity to say that because his parents were public servants like himself, he knows that it takes an honorable, committed person to provide Mexico with what it needs to achieve its true potential. He noted that after his political experience in the service of the Social Development Secretariat (Sedesol) and the Treasury Secretariat (SHCP), he acquired the knowledge to guarantee progress in Mexico.
In turn, Vázquez Mota talked about her time as the head of the Public Education Secretariat (SEP) and the Sedesol, and noted that because these government agencies are so close to the needs of society, she knows first-hand what the country really needs.
