Until last Friday in Hidalgo there were recorded 212 cases of influenza of all types, of which 207 are for A-H1N1, and they have confirmed five deaths associated with other diseases and / or risk factors, as well as the late service request, evolving favorably 9 out of 10 patients with outpatient treatment, which were released.

This was announced by the Ministry of Health of the State of Hidalgo, after cutting that is performed every Friday at the national level to inform, evaluate and point out the plan of intent to the seasonal flu and prevention measures to be applied in Federal states and the District local authorities and the federal IMSS and ISSSTE in the states.

Before the cases in Hidalgo, the state health sector pointed out that, as expected, this season of cold cases seasonal influenza viruses increase, so people are advised to dress warmly when going out, avoid currents of cold air, wash hands frequently with soap and water or anti-bacterial gel and for no reason self-medicate, as it could worsen the disease.

Likewise, a person presenting alarm symptoms such as fever greater than 38 degrees, should seek medical attention, avoid places where there is cigarette smoke and refrain from smoking; meet recommendations of Civil Protection. If presenting any respiratory illness, stay home and go out only when necessary and use enough blankets at night and early morning, when the temperature drops drastically.

The Secretariat of Health of Hidalgo determined to be important to watch for heating systems that do not release gases that cause food poisoning, keep ventilated rooms where there are heat sources such as fireplaces, heaters, stoves.

Finally, the health sector qualifies as a determinant to enhance the health of children and older adults in this season to feed on fruits and vegetables high in vitamins A and C as well as plenty of fluids.
