The properties so far recognized in soybeans, have now added protective benefits for controlling weight gain. Benefits that, and according to the research study conducted in Spain, are attributed to isoflavones, the active ingredient in soy in the diet which can be a good ally to avoid the problems of becoming overweight or obese, a condition of increasing concern to physicians.

Avoiding weight gain using a natural product may be the next step if the results are confirmed by the research study conducted by the Foundation IMABIS Málaga, part of the Biomedical Research Center in Red Pathophysiology of Obesity and Nutrition.

Disorders, weight gain and obesity are a major concern of nutrition experts. Prevent and control may be possible thanks to the protective effects of isoflavones present in soy. An active ingredient, a natural vegetable substance that researchers do not rule it can be a substitute for drugs to prevent weight gain.

In this protective effect, we must add the antioxidant property and protection of the coronary system. By controlling weight gain and risk of obesity, soy also helps control the onset of diabetes by improving glucose levels.

The study, in clinical trials and published in the British Journal of Pharmacology, has been successfully tested in mice. After causing the mice to become overweight they were administered, for fifteen days, the active ingredient of soy (in particular, daiceina, a type of isoflavone). The results were that mice gained less weight and therefore less liver fat. In addition, as noted from the research center itself, the action of this natural substance found in soy activated the thermogenic brown adipose tissue and reducedsteatosishipática (fatty liver).

The study also revealed another important aspect, and the appearance of leptin, the hormone known as the thinness and the ability to inhibit appetite, and decreased adiponectin levels (thereby increasing insulin sensitivity ).

It is not the first time that soy is presented as a natural ingredient to consider when following a healthy balanced diet to prevent disease. Thus, among the properties that are attributed to isoflavonesis also as a natural antioxidant would relieve the discomfort of menopause, helping to reduce the risk of coronary artery disease by controlling cholesterol levels and improving our bone health. The isoflavones have also been assigned ant icancer properties.
