Molinos Modernos opened a new production center in Ozama Mills, flour mill plant in operation in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday January 17th.

The new mill can process 400 tons of wheat a day, making a total production on Ozama Mills of 1,200 tons per day, making it the largest mill with wheat production capacity in the Caribbean and Central America.

Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic opened the complex with Juan Jose Gutierrez, Corporate Multi-Investments Corporation President by Modern Mills, and Juan Luis Bosch, also President of Corporate and Investment Corporation Multi Garita and CEO Alberto Molinos Modernos.

With the production capacity increase, Ozama Mills consolidate its leadership in the Dominican market and aims to increase exports from this country to other countries in the Caribbean.

Molinos Modernos have establishments producing flour, pasta and biscuits in Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.

El Salvador is also home to a corn flour mill and has influential commercial presence in markets of Honduras, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Haiti which also receive exports of its range of products.

Multi-Investment Corporation (MIC) began in 1920 and has spread to 16 countries and employs 29,000 people in 50 different markets.

It has six operating branches: Livestock Industry, responsible for raising, processing and marketing of pigs and chickens; Molinos Modernos which produces flour, pastries and cookies, Pollo Campero and other fast food restaurants; Multiproyectos that has developed shopping centers, housing and office complexes, Energy, led to the production of renewable energy and financial services division.
