In his most recent article Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro says he had the pleasure to have met with Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during his visit to Cuba on Wednesday and he was completely quiet, peaceful and indifferent towards US threats.

Fidel said that Ahmadinejad trusts his nation’s capacity to face any foreign aggression and the effectiveness of the weapons Iranians have in their hands to inflict on aggressors an incalculable price. But during their conversation, the Iranian president hardly talked about the war issue, said Castro, who explained that Ahmadinejad focused on the ideas he outlined in the lecture he gave at the University of Havana on the struggle by human beings to reach peace, security, respect and dignity as the top aspiration of all humans through history.

Castro said that he is sure that Iran is not expected to take any rash actions that may lead to the outbreak of a war.

If a war inevitably breaks out, it will be the result of the adventurism and congenital irresponsibility of the Yankee empire, he pointed out.

However, Castro said that in his view the political situation created around Iran and the risk of a nuclear war that could come out of it, involving everyone  either with Iran having nuclear weapons or not, is a very delicate issue since it threatens the very existence of the human species.

The Middle East has become the most trouble spot on the planet, and the area with the energy resources that are crucial for the world’s economy.
