After deliberating during more than 6 hours, the Fifth Court of Sentence resolved to declare the extradition request from former President Alfonso Portillo,, to whom the justice of U.S. it demands for conspiring for the wash of $70 million dollars.
Portillo will be prosecuted by a federal court in New York, but before being sent to the northern country will have to solve their legal status in the case of embezzlement of K120 million in the Army, which runs the Fifth Criminal Trial Court.
The hearing began at 9:30 in the morning. At 15 minutes into the judicial appointment, when the Special Prosecutor CICIG was in the use of the word, an employee of the tribunal informed the judges who had received a telephone call in which threatened to murder their families if not suspending the diligence.
