President Alvaro Colom spoke about the alleged plot to kill deputy Ninth Montenegro and noted that the case "has to do with mafias that are being battered by investigations, has to do with other cases of CICIG.

With respect to the cause of the plan, the ruler affirmed that the overseeing of Montenegro to the program My Family Progresses "he has nothing to do, at least is the information that has".

Colom said  in November "happened equal with other two personalities, but the precautions were taken and did not pass anything, thanks to God".  Upon asking him if considered that the intent of attack against the parliamentary  would seek  damage to its government, Colom responded that yes.
