A report from National Institute of Statistician (INE), spread yesterday, and reveals that the average national price for one pound of sugar, in January the price was Q2.40 and for February it was Q2.49; whereas yesterday Rubén Morales, the Secretary of the Treasury, declared that the increase applies starting this weekend, and the suggested price is Q3.75 per pound.
According to INE sugars rise was 6.36 percent in January and February.
Since last week, in some stores of the town and markets of the capital the price per pound was at Q4, which in the providence it was higher or they will sell it with the condition of perchaises of other basic products.
