The sugar business had a sweet ending in 2008. the exportation's increased a 34,7 percent,mean while other tradicional products  suffered a shrinkage in sales.

The variation in the price was in $131.2 millions in comparison with the prior year. The total of the exportation's were of $509.3 million mine while that in 2008 it closed in $378.0 million, according to the statistics that the Bank of Guatemala (BANGUAT)exposed.

Now in regards the volume their was an increased of 296.8 million kilos (22.9%) this is with in 2008. last year 1,593.7 million kilos were sent and the rate was superior to the 1,296.9 million kilos that were negotiated in 2008.
